Sundance, Snow, and Ski Rentals: Your Guide to Park City

Park City is one of the most desired ski cities out west! From the Sundance Film Festival to ski rentals, this guide is here to help you plan your next trip.

Where should I stay in Park City?

There are lots of lodging options available in Park City to match your vacation plans. If you plan on skiing most days, choosing a ski-in, ski-out resort right on the mountain is really convenient. Going with children? With childcare, private and group ski lessons, and their signature winter events, Park City Mountain Resort offers tons of activities for everyone in the family. More excited about historic downtown? There are plenty of hotels and even Airbnbs walking distance from Main Street. Check out Park City’s website for more information and reviews of places from hotels to condos to stay during your trip.

What can I do in Park City?

While most people think of Park City for its amazing ski resorts, don’t overlook it’s history. Park City was discovered in the 1800s and was a silver mining town for decades. Check out Historic Main Street and step into the heart of this historic mountain town. With over 200 unique businesses, over 50 restaurants, and live music and events, it’s worth the trip down the mountain.

If you’re going to Park City in late January, you might spot one of your favorite celebs in town for the Sundance Film Festival. This annual 10-day festival is open to the public, and it features documentaries, short films, panel discussions, performances, and more.

In 2002, Park City hosted the Olympic Winter Games at Utah Olympic Park. It’s still in use all year for competitions and training for elite athletes. Take a ride in a bobsled, try extreme ziplining, or defeat the extreme Winter Summit Course.

No matter what time of year you visit, Park City has countless outdoor activities. In the summer, try white water rafting, go mountain biking, try fly-fishing, or even take a hot air balloon ride. In the winter, there is skiing of course, but also dog sledding, snow biking, snowmobiling, and so much more.
