Cookie Time
You may know Beaver Creek as Vail’s little sister, living in the shadow of that massive mountain 10 miles to the east. You may have heard of Beaver Creek’s famed Birds of Prey racecourse, one of the most intimidating and challenging on the Alpine Skiing World Cup circuit. Or perhaps you know Beaver Creek as a world-renowned luxury resort, with covered escalators throughout the village ready to whisk guests straight to the chair lifts.
However beyond those claims to fame, and beyond the incredibly varied terrain that make Beaver Creek perfect for everyone from beginners to Olympic ski racers, there is one aspect of the resort that really sets it apart…Cookie Time! Every day at 3pm you will find chefs and volunteers at the bottom of lift 6, right in the heart of Beaver Creek Village, handing out freshly baked chocolate chip cookies.
That’s right, after a long day out in the alpine environment you’re greeted with warm, gooey, delicious chocolate chip cookies right out of the oven. It doesn’t matter if you were having your first lesson on Red Buffalo or hucking cliffs at Stonecreek Chutes, if you had your best day of the season or your worst, ending the day with a cookie is the perfect recipe to keep you coming back for more.
Speaking of recipes, if you’re lucky enough to be at Beaver Creek opening day this year(November 26th), stop by the 11th annual Beaver Creek Chocolate Chip Cookie Competition. The top 5 guest submitted recipes will compete for the title of ‘Worlds Best Chocolate Chip Cookie’ for 2015. The only thing better than 1 chocolate chip cookie is 5 chocolate chip cookies.
