Jackson Hole — Wall to Wall, Top to Bottom!

In an unprecedented move, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort announced the wall-to-wall, top to bottom opening of the mountain, on November 27th. Never before in recorded history has Jackson Hole Mountain Resort had so much snow this early, with totals tipping the 212” mark. We call it Snowvember, and now we are nearing the end of Deepcember. This years Christmas list: 12 of 12 lifts open, CHECK, 116 of 116 trails open, CHECK, 39 groomed trails, CHECK, season snowfall total of 212”, CHECK, and a base depth of 77”, CHECK.
It has been a whirlwind of a week here at Jackson Hole! Between the frenzy of holiday preparations and the blizzard of snowfall, we feel as if we are living inside a snow globe. Today, the glitter and the glitz has finally settled — for a moment — as skies cleared the way for Santa and his reindeer tonight. With today’s perfect conditions, Santa will not be the only one with rosy red cheeks.
After skiing, the fun does not end. Après-ski is just getting started. There are plenty of places to eat, drink, and relax in mountain village, Mangy Moose, is the rowdiest of them all and one of the locals favorite. From saddle bar stools to wine bars, Jackson Hole has something for everyone.
Then comes the dinning. Jackson has a remarkably diverse assemblage restaurants, from coffee and breakfast shops to simple family-style cooking to the big game steakhouses. There is something to satisfy everyone’s pallet.
Just a short, scenic 12 miles down the road from the mountain is the town of Jackson. With free shuttle service through out the town, it makes the exciting nightlife, easily accessible and safe to partake in until the wee hours of the night. Make sure you check the Jackson Hole Chamber of Commerce for listings of all the events going on this winter.
Don’t forget to sign up for the resort’s Vertical Foot Club which lets out-of-town skiers (locals are not eligible) track their cumulative runs, awarding certificates and belt buckles at specific milestones. You can also earn a free day of skiing for your next visit. Sign up at the Guest Service Center at the base area.
