Transportation in Mammoth
With heavy snowfall in the past month, the mountains are calling for you to come explore, these conditions also call for road safety: when driving around Mammoth it is important that you plan ahead, carry tire chains, carpool and use public transportation whenever possible. Mammoth Lakes does a fantastic job at providing free and easy access to transportation around town that will make your ski vacation easy and enjoyable.

Spend more time in the mountains and less time on the road
Getting to Mammoth can be made simple when flying from select areas. Flight departures can be made from Burbank, Los Angeles, and Carlsbad California into the Mammoth Yosemite Airport (MMH) which is located 15 Minutes from town.
Flights are also available from Denver, Colorado, and San Francisco, California into the Bishop Airport (BIH) which is located 45 minutes south of Mammoth Lakes.

Downloading the Mammoth app is a helpful way to track your ski stats on the mountain, live alerts on snow conditions, live cams of each lodge, lift lines and trail statuses, maps and local events that you won’t want to miss.
Activities beyond world-class skiing at Mammoth Mountain:
Every Friday and Saturday from 2 – 5 pm head over to the Canyon Lodge Sundeck for an Apres Party where you can find a full bar and great music played by local DJs.
The Panorama Gondola provides an awesome opportunity to be at 11,053 feet where you will see the infamous summit sign, enjoy lunch at Eleven53 Café and where you can also learn more about the Sierras at the interpretive center. You can save 15% when purchasing a gondola ride ticket up to 2 weeks in advance.
Cross Country Skiing at Tamarack Lodge
The Cross Country Ski Center at Tamarack offers skiing and snowshoeing daily from 8:30 am‑4:00 pm. All 19+ miles of ski trails at the Cross Country ski area are easy to identify with its groomed and marked signage.
After a long day of skiing or snowshoeing, you can head over to Tamarack’s lobby where you can wind down by a warm wood fire, classic music, and a cocktail made to order.
Snowcat Tours to Minaret Vista
Book a tour in a cozy snowcat with up to 12 of you and your friends that will give you a ride up to one of Mammoth’s most scenic spots. At Minaret Vista you’ll be treated to a spread of delicious eats and a toasty drink to accompany your view. The top provides you with views of Mammoth Mountain, The Minarets, Ritter Range, and more.
