Powder Week in Jackson Hole
Every year, the ski industry’s best and brightest editors, testers, athletes and locals gather in one place to test next year’s equipment. They choose a place they know will offer the most variety of the best terrain, the greatest snow and a backdrop worth publishing in every first issue of the 2012/2013 ski season. Of course, Jackson Hole is the only place that fits that bill and goes above and beyond.
With a wide spectrum of accessible terrain, including groomed runs, sidecountry powder, long bump runs, intermediate corduroy and famous chutes and Corbet’s Couloir, Jackson has something for literally every ability. Beyond that, the views make it picture perfect for photographers to capture the joy of skiing in the best combination of conditions. Finish off a day like that with some après at the Mangy Moose or a visit to any of Jackson’s famous restaurants and watering holes and you’ve got yourself the perfect venue. So, skiers, writers, editors, photographers, bloggers and more, we welcome you to Jackson for another perfect Powder Week. Enjoy!
You could not ask for better conditions for Powder Week. We currently have 284 inches of cowboy powder (most in the country) and the forecast is calling for 1 – 3 feet of snow this week. As Powder Week rolls on, you can catch some of the festivities. The Dick’s Ditch Classic will be going on all weekend long. It is a banked slalom competition that runs on the man-made and natural terrain in Dick’s Ditch. You do not want to miss this week!
