Sainte Foy Local Guide
Situated at 1550m (with top lifts at 2660m), Sainte Foy remains true to its roots, retaining plenty of authentic alpine charm. Since its inception in the early 90’s, it’s managed to maintain that unassuming and genuine vibe, allowing it’s visitors to feel they are in the heart of a friendly village community.
The chalets are handcrafted, using traditional local stone and timber oozing character. Fairy-lights line the roofs, giving the resort a warm glow come evening.
With 2 green, 7 blue, 11 red and 4 black runs in Sainte Foy, not to mention the vast expanse of off-piste and secret forest trails, there really is something for everyone in snowy Sainte Foy – In fact, it’s where ski instructors from other resorts love to visit on their days off!
Off-Hill Activities
With it’s beautiful tree lined lower slopes there are plenty of activities for non-skiers. The snowshoe trails are exceptional and it’s also easy to walk up to the top of the first lift along the less steep green runs which are wide and meandering.
There are quaint mountain restaurants where you can relax, soak up the atmosphere and re-energise in the afternoon. Whether the sun is setting, or the snow is falling you’ll struggle not to get caught up in Sainte Foy’s beauty, feeling delightfully detached from the outside world!
Sainte Foy is perfectly located in the middle of its big brother neighbours; Tignes, Val d’Isere, Les Arcs & La Rosiere. This allows great days out in the big smoke.
Restaurants
In Ste-Foy-Station the central Bergerie is traditionally styled in wood and stone and does excellent food. The Maison a Colonnes is simple and good. Chez Alison also offers simple fare. In the village of Le Miroir Chez Merie is excellent for lunch as well as dinner. So is the Auberge sur la montagne.
There are two small rustic restaurants at Plan Bois which are very popular and sometimes can be overcrowded. The Maison a Colonnes gets consistently good reports.
For nightlife this is quite a quiet resort. However, the Iceberg Piano bar is very popular. The Pitchouli is also very good later on in the night. It has table football and live music.
