The longer days have been welcomed with open arms here in North Lake and skiers and riders are continuing to enjoy all that the local resorts have to offer. With the spring season upon us, there are plenty of events happening at all of the resorts and many different activities for the whole family to enjoy. Here is a brief description of whats going on at a few of the resorts in the upcoming weeks, be sure to take advantage of everything that Tahoe has to offer!

Squaw Valley is celebrating St. Paddy’s Day in true Irish fashion with Lenny the snowboarding Leprechaun. Enjoy skiing on green slopes and dancing to Irish Music throughout the day. If you are one of the lucky ones to catch Lenny on the hill you will be rewarded with prizes and a chance to win the Squaw Valley pot of gold. There will be live music from 3 – 5 at the KT Sundeck, as well as drink and food specials at various restaurants and bars throughout the village. On March 19th, ski to the pool as the High Camp swimming lagoon and spa opens. The pool is located at 8200ft and features 25 meter lap lanes and two islands landscaped with waterfalls and native boulders. The pool is heated to a cozy 102 degrees, cost $12 per person with a lift ticket and is open from 11 – 4 daily. So, ski down with your trunks and hop in and enjoy the warm water that the high camp swimming lagoon has to offer! Also during the weekend, the Helly Hanson Big Mountain Battle will take place. Grab a ski buddy and enter into the race, with a chance to win many different prizes from Helly Hanson. If you love to night ski, make sure and get all that you can in before March 26th because the night operations is closing for the season.

There are many different events upcoming at Alpine Meadows, including a really fun band from Truckee playing on St. Paddy’s Day at the Last Chair Bar. Dress yourself as a leprechaun or simply in green and try to find the pot of gold hidden by the Alpine Staff to win alpine swag and a spring pass good for the rest of the season. Over the weekend after the Irish holiday, come and take part in Take the Lake, a Triple Air Jumpline Competition. This is the 2nd year for the big air contests, enjoy skiing or riding for cash prizes or simply watching some of the countries best launch themselves through the air for the best score. This is a great weekend to be at Alpine Meadows, especially because Saturday the 19th is the beginning of the Spring Music Series. Until the end of the season there will be live music every weekend at all of the various venues at the resort.
With all the snow that continues to fall here the skiing is still great and all the events happening is sure to make for an amazing trip.
