Spring is in the Air in Whistler
Whistler is showing the signs of Spring but we are still getting a subtantial amount of snow in the Alpine. We have had 34″ this week, with some surpirse sunny Pow Days.
Along with the great skiing we have a week of Social events coming up with the World Ski Snowboard Fest (www.wssf.com) starting April 11 – 20. This is the biggest annual gathering of winter sports,music, arts and mountain culture in North America. The Motto is “Party in April and Sleep in May”. The highlight of these events is the Pro Photographer Showdown where action sports and lifestyle photographers from around the world submit entries for an oppurtunity to earn a trip to Whistler and showcase their work to an audience of sports enthusiasts,media and industry professionals.Entries will be judged as each Photographer competes for over $10,000 in prizes.
Another great spring event is the Whistler Cup. Moving into its 22nd year, Whistler Cup has grown to become the largest and most important ski race in North America, and internationally, for athletes aged 11 to 14 years. With hundreds of young athletes from 23 countries participating, the Whistler Cup brings together children from many different cultures.
With a 322″ base and a host of events to attend April should be a fun filled month.
