Breathe Easy — masks to keep you safe
We all have to do our part to help slow the spread of COVID-19. Since we’ve been staying home, we’ve seen some wonderful things happen – less pollution in the air, more time for family, and of course pets who are just happy we are home with them. We can’t stay home all the time though, and we need to keep ourselves safe when we do venture out.
The CDC recommends that we wear face masks when we go out to places like grocery stores and gas stations. This stops people from spreading the virus if they happen to be infected but not feeling symptoms yet. There’s a pretty short supply of masks right now, but thankfully companies are making more.
We are so excited to partner with one of these companies – Breathe Easy Utah! Alpine Promotions, a local company here in Salt Lake City, is known for creating custom designs on clothing. When COVID-19 hit, Alpine Promotions recognized the need for personal protective equipment (PPE) – even doctors and nurses didn’t have enough. So, they redirected their apparel production to create Breathe Easy Utah and produce fabric masks. To be clear, these are not fitted surgical masks or N‑95 respirators, but these can be used by people who need to run errands. These masks can be used multiple times, as long as they are washed/sterilized after each use.
Here are the specs from the site:
“This fabric face mask cover is made out of 2 layers of 4.3oz 100% polyester knit jersey material. It features an internal pocket that can be accessed by both sides to accommodate a PM2.5 filter insert or surgical mask. This mask can be utilized by itself in casual environments such as grocery stores to block large particulates such as a random cough or sneeze. In medical settings where N95 masks are in short supply this product can be used as a mask cover to extend the longevity of your surgical or N95 mask.”
Help us slow the spread of this virus. You can even get your own customized Ski Butlers face mask to rep at the grocery store!
