Whistler/Blackcomb — a Little Something for Everyone

Whistler/Blackcomb

Is Whistler on your radar? It should be! Located in British Columbia’s Fitzsimmons Range, Whistler Blackcomb is the ultimate ski destination. The resort is just 75 miles from Vancouver — take the scenic Sea to Sky Highway to kickstart your adventure with breathtaking views along Howe Sound.

With over 8,000 acres of skiable terrain, Whistler is the largest ski resort in North America and receives, on average, just over 400 inches of snow per year. The resort has 37 lifts, 200 marked trails, 16 alpine bowls, three terrain parks, ensuring there is something for every skill level.

And for those looking to explore deeper into the mountains, the area offers amazing heli-skiing opportunities.

A standout attraction, Whistler is home to the world’s longest and highest continuous lift system — the Peak 2 Peak Gondola. The Gondola connects Whistler and Blackcomb mountains and offers incredible views along the way. As part of Epic’s The Gondola Gallery, two of the gondola cars are wrapped with artwork by Chief Janice George and Buddy Joseph, and Levi Nelson.

A Whistler highlight, every Sunday, January through early March at 7:30 p.m., the resort hosts Fire & Ice in the Village. This unique experience combines ski and snowboard acrobatics through a fiery ring with music and pyrotechnics.

Whistler was a venue for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games — the year that the U.S. alpine team — including Bode Miller, Julia Mancuso, and Lindsay Vonn — brought home quite a few medals. Whistler’s Olympic legacy lives on with the snow school’s Ski or Ride with an Olympian program, as well as Nordic skiing opportunities at the Olympic venue, museums, and other community experiences.

Beyond the slopes, Whistler Village boasts an array of renowned restaurants, spas and wellness centers, as well as a lively après-ski scene. There is truly no better way to end a ski day than with a spa treatment followed by a delicious dinner.

Whether you’re focused on skiing and snowboarding, stunning mountain views, Olympic history, or the vibrant dining and nightlife scene, Whistler offers a touch of magic for everyone.
