Winding Down Summer

We’ve had a cold snap here in the mountains. It is regularly hitting mid to low 40’s when the sun goes down, and it’s no longer comfortable to wear shorts and tank-tops past dark. Fall is coming fast, the leaves already starting to change in our upper-most peaks.

I can hear you now: Say it ain’t so!” as you aren’t quite ready to let summer go.. But we’re excited here at higher altitudes. Colder temps have people thinking about winter in the mountains: about sleeper powder days, catching first chair, and that new set of Rossignols they’ve had their eye on since last season.

Inevitably, the younger crowd, fondly remembering their family ski trips, starts to wonder, How can I spend a winter in a mountain town?”

And that’s when they stumble upon Ski Butlers. As we’re now in 18 different locations in North America, it’s an easy thing to do. They could be taking a peek at what Jackson, Wyoming has to offer: 3 ski resorts within an hour drive, fantastic restaurants and breweries all along the wooden sidewalks of downtown, not to mention the two major national parks right next door.

Or maybe the pretty blue of Lake Tahoe has caught their eye, with its plethora of resorts to choose from: Heavenly, Kirkwood, Northstar, Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows, just to name a few.

The seasonal shift is always one we look forward to. We go from a bare-bones staff of about 10 to a bustling 300+, which means young adventurers looking to find a mountain home for the winter is the reason we’re able to provide such legendary service. We love being able to share the greatness of the mountains with our guests over a long weekend — imagine how we feel being able to share it for a whole season with our newest Team Members! (Honestly, we’re just excited about it as they are!)

As you might have guessed, there’s a lot to explore while you’re here! So we welcome the cold winds of winter early here in the mountains. Because we look forward to sharing it all with you. Whether it’s shredding from the top of Squaw Peak for the tenth season in a row, or riding the legendary Jackson Hole Resort tram for the first time, we look forward to making you all feel like locals as long as you’re here.
